St Bede’s, Clapham Park, is a busy South London parish with over 500 worshippers every weekend. It is home to a multi-lingual community of about 50 national origins. We are unique in that we have three distinct liturgical communities: English language, Latin traditional Roman Rite and Latin American in Spanish.
The parish is well known for its excellence in liturgy, in music and in catechetical formation (the passing on of the faith). It is also known as a place of faithful observance and commitment to the Catholic Faith in all its fullness. It is a place with many opportunities for prayer and devotion as well as meeting others socially.
The parish is also home to three schools (St Bede’s, St Bernadette’s and La Retraite) as well as the religious congregation The Handmaids of Mary.
We welcome you to come and share in our family at the parish of St Bede’s, named after an ancient English Saint (673-735) who was a Monk and Scholar, the father of English History, who showed how England, though made up of many peoples and tribes, was formed as one in the Catholic faith.
